Visit to two processes industries which are having boiler, was arranged for SE Mechanical students on 11th September 2019. The purpose of visit is to demonstrate the construction and working of the boiler and to understand the application of boilers in process industry. Fifty eight students form SE Mech class were present for this visit.
In morning session, students have visited the Nandan Dairy, Malegaon. The industry uses the boiler for milk processing only. There were two boilers of 1.5 Tons capacity of type wood fired and oil fired. Students understood the application of low capacity boiler for processes industry. Also they have studied the construction, working and mountings of low pressure boiler. They also understood the difference between liquid fuel and solid fuel boiler.
Students have visited the Someshwar Sugar factory, Someshwar Nagar after lunch session. The industry uses the boiler for sugarproduction processes as well as power generation. Hence industry have large capacity boiler of 200 Tons with high pressure. The fuel used was bagasse, coal and biogas. Students have seen all components of Rankine cycle and understood the construction and working.
